Brightly-colored nasturtium flowers adorned the Feast platters on Sunday, so you can imagine my joy at receiving this gorgeous drawing from Annie this morning.
Enrique is an amazing young man who has grown up in a cohousing community - a strong foundation on which to build for your enriching farm experience. I am fortunate to have seen his development into a very responsible and respectful teen. We have a special community here where we are all like family and he is like a brother to my own teen and another son to me! Much love and praise for your work. Perhaps we could connect as my grandfather’s house that we now have is in Jay!
Beautiful story. I work with urban youth and your descriptions were right on. I love how your experience illustrates the power of community, relationship, real contact with other beings -- how these things can cut through even the cell phone layer of youth! That's powerful indeed!!!
"The food isn’t for sale, but it also isn’t free. Partaking bestows a bundle of relationships. Carrying those relationships requires a lot of honest work. If we’re lucky, that work might begin to feel like home."
These words resonate deeply in my life at this time. Thank you
Thank you for this, Laurie. Teenage-hood is a demographic I feel least comfortable trying to engage as a teacher/mentor. I always think I'm not funny enough to break the inertia. But stretching the interaction out over time allows for slower openings.
Thank you for your note. "Not for sale but not free" attempts to bring the trickster quality of the gift into view. I'm glad you caught a glimpse, because every time I do it takes my breath away. Blessings on your flock. Adam
May all our eyebrows hurt 😍💕
May that it be so. Thank you, Laura.
Humbling, patience, beauty, goodness, joy… thank you for sharing these (and many more) blessings with us Adam.
So much joy. Thank you for reading, Heather.
So good. And so much goodness. Thank you, Adam.
Thank you, Carrie.

What a sweet note about a sweet young man. I'll look forward to meeting you some day. Best, Adam
Adam, this one has extra juice!!
It's the drawing, Annie. Coupled with the lack of sleep, perhaps. Delirium and a gorgeous drawing collide to juice up a story.

Yes, time not always but often is required in nurturing relationships…
“The food isn’t for sale, but it also isn’t free” perfect. I really love what you’re doing here, very inspiring. Thank you so much for sharing this.
