This is very cool. I was sorting corn at the Ganondagan white corn project on Thursday and conversation turned to the Thanksgiving Address. Spirit poked me then, but I wasn’t sure why. Will allow this to unfold and go down happy rabbit holes further.

I would love to see that white corn growing. We grow blue corn and a mix of yellow-orange-red with lineages from a few places. The sprouts are 4" tall already.

Hey Adam, oooo those colors are so gorgeous. The corn has been amazing me this last month since I’ve been volunteering. Petra has been collaborating at the project, they are working with the teachings in The Serviceberry book. I feel like the corn is this community organizer and healer, ambassador, etc. And if there is any way forward for modern machine people, it’s with these food and medicine teachers, and the timeless wisdom traditions that are being shared by the people who see/know.

What a beautiful day watching Radical Neighboring and sharing thoughts, stories, and ideas that arose. So many lovely lessons. So many good questions and bunny trails - I was especially fond of the poop trail,so thank you again!💩 I look forward to sharing the recording once it's available.

Thank you so much, Adam, for living your life and bringing so much consideration, love, and beauty to the world. I'm a Mattias fan and I'm so glad he's introduced us. You have enlightened my perspective and given me much to consider. 💝

I wish you all the best with the projects and collaborations you will enjoy this year.

Peace.

Adam, I enjoyed this reflection. Many lines struck me, the most impactful being when you ask if anyone else is exhausted from carrying around this thing we call “our mind.” (Uhhhh YES! Totally relate!) The implication of your piece is that in joining with other minds or entities we might find relief.

There is a parallel in 12 Step Recovery teachings which invites us, whenever we are troubled, to do for others, think of others, and to practice gratitude.

Theres an interesting corollary too. In my program we say, “The opposite of addiction is not abstinence. It’s connection.” It’s no accident that addiction is on the rise—our culture encourages separateness in our consumerism, militarism, othering, social media — practically everywhere you turn.

So I would say that your “radical neighboring” and Tom’s “joining our minds as one” could be seen as a preventative measure against addiction in the way sunscreen prevents burns.

The film is beautiful! Many congratulations to you and Matthias. I will spread it far and wide.
